Morgan Wallen spent Independence Day in the U.K., headlining AEG's British Summer Time at London's Hyde Park.
The Big Loud/Mercury/Republic (Neal Agency) star’s appearance at the Blighty fest followed acclaimed performances by SZA and Kings of Leon earlier in the week. His set featured support from Riley Green, ERNEST, Ella Langley, Alana Springsteen and more.
Wallen (pictured with Wallen band guitarist-singer Dominic Frost) sold out London's O2 last year, marking the arena show one of the biggest country concerts ever to transpire on the King’s side of the drink.
The chart-topping star will put a little more English on his July 4th weekend by dropping a new single, "Lies Lies Lies," the day after his Hyde Park performance. First unveiled during his Live From Abbey Road Studios session on YouTube, the track has garnered significant attention since its debut, thanks in part to a memorable rendition at Stagecoach in April.
Amid the continued success of One Thing at a Time, which holds steady at #2 on the HITS Top 50 chart more than 16 months after its release, Wallen finds himself a contender for Song of the Summer with "I Had Some Help," his Post Malone collab.
Wallen performed both "Lies Lies Lies" and "I Had Some Help" in London, as well as his familiar cover of Jason Isbell's "Cover Me Up" and 10 tunes from One Thing at a Time.
Rumors that Wallen is now a devotee of steak-and-kidney pie and mushy peas could not be confirmed at press time.
