It’s been quite a run for Island co-rulers Imran Majid and Justin Eshak, who have followed up Sabrina Carpenter’s explosive performance in the marketplace with the breaking of Chappell Roan. The latter, who is being touted big time as a Grammy BNA contender, has multiple tracks streaming. Majid and Eshak seem to have found the secret sauce just 2½ years after taking over the label. Too bad they had to experience the unpleasant flavor of HITS as a result.
