LIVE NATION APPLAUDS TICKET ACT ADVANCEMENT

Live Nation is applauding the U.S. House of Representatives' advancement of the TICKET Act, which would require primary and secondary sellers Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and StubHub to disclose the full ticket price, including fees, at the start of a transaction, prior to seat selection. Secondary sellers would also be forbidden from transacting tickets they do not actually possess.

"We’ve led the industry by adopting all-in pricing and support a national law to ensure everyone follows this policy that benefits fans and artists," the company said. "We also back other ticketing reforms like enhancing anti-bot legislation and banning speculative ticketing and other predatory resale practices. Bipartisan support for these reforms shows that protecting fans and artists is in everyone’s interest. We look forward to working with policymakers to make these changes law."

Live Nation also provided an update on the first six months of its all-in pricing plan, which has yielded an 8% increase in completed sales of 9,000 shows—to the benefit of fans in 33 states plus Washington, D.C.

"Showing the total cost to walk in the door upfront is better for fans and artists," said Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino. "We’re proud to have led the industry in adapting this commonsense policy, and we encourage Congress to enact a nationwide law so every ticket buyer benefits from this transparency, no matter where they are buying their tickets."
