Arista Records has jointly promoted Kendell “Sav” Freeman (in Dodgers cap) and Khris Riddick-Tynes to SVP A&R. They previously shared the title co-head/VP of urban music.
Freeman and Riddick-Tynes will continue to operate out of the label's New York and L.A. offices, respectively, reporting to label President David Massey.
The two took on their initial shared role in 2021 and have since contributed to the development of artists like Lola Brooke and newcomer Hurri Haran.
After signing Brooke, Freeman brought his joint-venture label, Saint Kash, under the Arista umbrella, subsequently retaining Cincinnati rapper Skylar Blatt, who’s currently climbing the Rhythm chart with “Wake Up” f/Chris Brown. His résumé also includes stints at Maybach Music Group via WMG, Def Jam and Standing Room Only MGMT.
Riddick-Tynes, a Grammy-winning producer, has worked with SZA, Ariana Grande, Drake, Lil Baby and Rick Ross, among others.
“Sav and Khris have played an integral part in building and developing an impressive roster here at Arista, including platinum-selling Lola Brooke, rapidly rising Skylar Blatt and the artist-development story that is Audrey Nuna,” said Massey. “We look forward to their continued leadership.”
