As Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT (Republic) and its expanded ANTHOLOGY iteration continue to dominate DSPs, Amazon Music has more or less provided some CliffsNotes for Swifties.
On Monday (4/22) Amazon released a track-by-track "experience" for listeners that boasts commentary from Swift interspersed throughout 24 tracks from the new albums, including "Clara Bow," “Florida!!!" f/Florence + The Machine, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and "Fortnight" f/Post Malone.
Fans can access the annotated playlist by saying, “Alexa, I’m a member of THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT” in range of an Echo or similar device or via the Amazon Music app.
TTPD is smashing records all over the place. Upon release (4/19), it quickly became Amazon Music's most-streamed album on a first day of activity. Tay's latest magnum opus is expected to open with more than 2m in total activity in its premiere week, crushing giant debuts for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Midnights to become the biggest bow of T-Swift's career.
We'll check it out, of course, but Alexa has told us she needs some space.
