UPDATE: With massive first-day numbers (313m global streams), Taylor Swift's TTPD now holds nearly every streaming record on Spotify. Tay now holds the biggest day for an album, song and more on Spotify. The platform announced on Saturday morning that TTPD became the first album ever to cross 300m streams in one day.
"Fortnight" f/Post Malone now holds the crown for the biggest global streaming day ever for a song on Spotify, with 25.2m streams. "Fortnight" also set a record in the U.S. with its #1 debut of 10.875m streams, surpassing the record held by Tay's "Anti-hero." 15 of Swift's 31 new songs opened with 10m+ global streams.
For those wondering, TTPD debuted with 127m more streams than Midnights' opening day.
As many expected, Taylor Swift's THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT broke streaming records in its first day on Spotify.
TTPD is now the most-streamed album in a single day in Spotify history, surpassing Midnights and 1989 (Taylor's Version) for the crown. Those albums now hold the top three spots on the platform, respectively.
Swift also became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history with her latest album, breaking a record she set with the release of 1989 (Taylor's Version).
