FLIPOVER FRIDAY:
TAY DAY

THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT has arrived, and the action at Apple Music and iTunes is poetry in motion.

The Republic megastar owns three of the top five and seven of the top 10 spots on Apple Music's overall singles chart, including #1 ("Fortnight" f/Post Malone). Nine more cuts from the album decorate the Top 25. TTPD is also, unsurprisingly, the #1 album.

The only songs preventing Tay from complete control of the Top 10: two cuts from Future and Metro Boomin ("Like That" and "Type Shit" at #2 and #4, respectively, via Freebandz/Boominati/Epic/Republic) and Sexyy Red's "Get It Sexyy" (Open Shift/gamma.) at #10.

At iTunes, TTPD tracks occupy nine of the top 10 positions, with "The Black Dog" leading. Only Nicki Minaj's "FTCU (SLEEZEMIX)" f/Travis Scott, Chris Brown and Sexyy Red breaks Tay's stride, twerking into the #2 spot. Of course, Tay and Nicki are both brought to you by Republic, so the iTunes Top 10 is entirely Lipman-branded.

If you thought Tay would have the #1 spot on the album chart as well, you were right. But she also holds the #2, #3 and #5 positions with assorted configurations of TTPD. Her 2019 set Lover sits at #9. Pearl Jam's Dark Matter (Monkeywrench/ Republic), Anne Wilson's REBEL (Sparrow/EMI Nashville), indie sets from Adam Calhoun and Pastor Mike Jr. and Beyoncé's COWBOY CARTER (Parkwood/Columbia) coexist at #4, #6, #7, #8 and #10.

Now if you'll excuse us, we're working on a villanelle about a nasty breakup.
