After logging the year’s biggest debut last week, Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER (Parkwood/Columbia) repeats at #1 on this week’s HITS Top 50. The rootsy 27-track set tops the chart with 131k and already ranks #8 among the top-selling albums YTD.
Interscope’s J. Cole scores the top debut with surprise mixtape Might Delete Later (Cole World). The week’s most-streamed project—with only 12 tracks—opens at #2 on 118k. K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER follow at #3 with minisode 3: TOMORROW (BIGHIT/Imperial/Republic), which posts 106k.
Future & Metro Boomin’s WE DON’T TRUST YOU (Boominati/Republic/Freebandz/Epic) and Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury/Republic) round out the Top 5.
Night Street/Warner’s hot rookie Benson Boone moves 56k, with his debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, earning a #6 bow. Also landing in the Top 20 with their opening frames are TrapSoul/RCA’s Bryson Tiller (#11), Republic’s Conan Gray (#14) and CMG/Interscope’s GloRilla (#18).
And though Taylor Swift is not in the Top 10 for the first time since we can remember, House Lipman can still claim half the titles in the Top 20. Swift’s next blockbuster, THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT, is mere days away so gird your loins.
Streeting this week are new titles by Boominati/Republic/Freebandz/Epic’s Future & Metro Boomin, Capitol’s Maggie Rogers, Big Loud’s ERNEST, Warner’s Linkin Park, EMI Nashville’s Tyler Hubbard and Columbia’s girl in red.
In Coachella news, we probably shouldn’t have opted for the all-leather ensemble. It’s a bit toasty. See the full chart here.
