Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney lead the nominations for the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards.
Combs was recognized in eight categories, including Entertainer, Male Artist, Album for Gettin' Old and Song and Single of the Year for “Fast Car.” Wallen garnered six nods, among them Entertainer, Male Artist and Album of the Year for One Thing at a Time. Moroney also earned six, scoring both Female and New Female Artist of the Year nominations as well as Song of the Year as artist and songwriter for “Tennessee Orange.”
Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson landed five each, followed by Jelly Roll and Jordan Davis with four.
Tracy Chapman received her first ACM nomination, for Single of the Year, as the writer of Combs’ “Fast Car.” She released her own version in 1988.
This is the fifth time Combs has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year. His rivals include Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, Johnson, Stapleton, Wallen and Wilson.
