Viral star and former The Voice contestant MaKenzie has signed with Warner Records, which has just dropped her new single, "Maybe" feat. TA Thomas.
The Kentucky native has been performing with her family in church since she was a toddler and has won a sizable audience for her R&B and gospel covers on social media. Chief among them is a version of The Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love," which has accumulated more than 6m plays on Spotify.
As for "Maybe," MaKenzie said she and collaborator Rob Knox "wanted to create a song that felt like one of those late '90s/early 2000s R&B 'sing along in the car real loud 'cuz you're frustrated in your relationship or you just ended shit and you now gotta vent'-type records." We feel seen!
