Hit singer, songwriter and producer Dan Wilson has signed with Universal Music Publishing Group for representation of his future works.
The multiple Grammy-winner's back catalog, which is repped by Primary Wave, includes smashes for Adele, The Chicks, Taylor Swift, John Legend, Dierks Bentley, P!nk, Josh Groban, Chris Stapleton, Weezer, Leon Bridges and many other artists in multiple genres.
Thanks to a producer credit, he shared in Adele's Album of the Year Grammy for 21, and he won Best Country Song earlier this month for Stapleton's "White Horse." Wilson also fronts rock band Semisonic, whose enduring '90s hit "Closing Time" has nearly 407m streams on Spotify.
"I consider it a true gift to work alongside a person who is so storied and accomplished, and yet so open to new experiences and collaborations," said UMPG EVP and Co-Head of A&R Jennifer Knoepfle (pictured with Wilson). "Dan trusted UMPG in this vital chapter of his career and we could not be more excited."
Added Wilson, "This publishing relationship with UMPG begins a whole new chapter in my musical life. Jenn and the UMPG team are brilliant and inspire confidence. We've hit the ground running, to say the least. I'm very excited to be working with them."
We wish somebody—anybody—would say that about us one of these days...
