WHAT'D THEY SAY? PARTY ON THE RAY CHARLES TERRACE

The Grammy Museum celebrated the unveiling of its Ray Charles Terrace with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday night (1/29). Hosted by Jimmy Jam, the event featured music from DJ Khalil as well as performances by Jac Ross and Aloe Blacc, who performed some of Charles’s biggest hits. Check out our upcoming Black History Month special for some verbiage dedicated to Jimmy Jam's impact as a producer, not to mention Brother Ray's influence on at least one major producer.

Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr., The Ray Charles Foundation President Valerie Ervin and Grammy Museum Foundation President/CEO Michael Sticka were among the attendees.

Wondering how many scissors are really necessary to cut a ribbon are (l-r) Rita George, John Burk, Yakub Hazzard, Clarence Daniels, Wes Coleman, Sticka, Ervin, Jimmy Jam, Tammy Hurt, Mason and Tim Bucher
