BANDLAB LEVELS UP WITH NEW LICENSING INITIATIVE

Singapore-based BandLab has added to its suite of music-technology products with the launch of BandLab Licensing, which will offer film, TV, gaming and advertising synchronization. BandLab will also provide "streaming licenses to platforms seeking fresh and distinctive rights-cleared content."

The program follows the success of BandLab subsidiary ReverbNation's sync licensing. The company says that initiative has facilitated thousands of licensing placements for users with brands like GEICO, SiriusXM and Toyota, plus on-screen syncs on WWE Raw, Reservation Dogs and Disney+'s The Clauses.

"The launch of BandLab Licensing marks a significant milestone in the expansion of offerings available to BandLab users," says CEO and co-founder Meng Ru Kuok. "It not only opens up new revenue streams for our creators and a new at-scale partner for the music supervisor and licensee community but strengthens our purpose to democratize and grow the value of music creation worldwide."

In October BandLab and UMG teamed up to create market-led solutions to ensure that new technologies serve the creator community. It also became the first music-creation platform to pledge support for the Human Artistry Campaign, a global coalition devoted to making sure AI technologies are developed and deployed to champion human creativity.
