THE LAST DINNER PARTY WINS BBC GONG

Buzzing British band The Last Dinner Party has been crowned the winner of BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2024, following its BRITs Rising Star win.

Signed to Island, the band is the first guitar act to win the award, which tips new acts for success, since Haim in 2013. It was signed to UMG U.K. in early 2022 and has since supported The Rolling Stones in Hyde Park.

The Party's debut album, Prelude to Ecstasy, produced with James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Haim), is due out in February.

The runners-up for BBC Sound of 2024 were singer and songwriter Olivia Dean (EMI) at #2, DJ Peggy Gou (XL) at #3, South African artist Tyla (Epic) at #4 and soul act Elmiene (Polydor/Def Jam) at #5.
