Rumor has it that Lana Del Rey and Tyler, The Creator are confirmed to headline Coachella 2024, which is slated for 4/12-14 and 4/19-21 at the Empire Polo Club grounds in Indio, California. Doja Cat is believed to be the third headliner, though we’re told she is not yet confirmed.
We understand that Peso Pluma is also in the mix as the desert lineup shakes out and that this year will see the festival's most diverse undercard yet in terms of both genre and global representation. Meanwhile, word is there was a push by Coachella to secure Dua Lipa for the fest but that she demurred due to timing. Shakira’s team, for their part, apparently went to the mat trying to get her a headlining slot, but Coachella ultimately passed on her—the reasons for which have engendered much speculation. There was also talk of possible top slots for The Rolling Stones, Olivia Rodrigo and Travis Scott.
Rage Against the Machine was long rumored to be returning as 2024 headliners, but those whispers were definitively kiboshed on 1/3 when drummer Brad Wilk posted on Instagram that RATM “will not be touring or playing live again,” effectively announcing the band’s breakup once more. After splitting up in 2011, the quartet had previously been slated to headline in 2020, which would have been its first gig in nine years. Then the pandemic struck. Rage played 19 shows in 2022 but was sidelined after singer Zack de la Rocha was injured; it canceled its tour and had to drop out of the Coachella lineup.
Interscope’s Del Rey—currently a contender for Album and Song of the Year Grammys—is managed by Ben Mawson and Ed Millet at TaP Music and repped worldwide by Carole Kinzel at CAA. LDR headlined Glastonbury and killed at BST Hyde Park in 2023; this year, she's slated to headline such major festivals as Reading & Leeds and Barcelona's Primavera Sound.
Columbia’s Tyler is managed by Christian Clancy and Kelly Clancy at 4 Strikes and repped worldwide by WME’s Kevin Shivers and James Rubin.
RCA’s Doja, who’s up for both Pop and Rap Grammys, is managed by Gordan Dillard and Josh Kaplan at Good Day Management and repped by CAA’s Jenna Adler, Akin Aliu, Ari Bernstein and Cameron Kaiser.
