TOP 50: A PINK CHRISTMAS FOR MINAJ

Young Money/Republic’s Nicki Minaj scores a strong #1 bow on this week’s HITS Top 50 chart as her Pink Friday 2 opens with 222k. She now becomes the female rap artist with the most #1 albums—the original Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded also topped the album chart. All of which is a nice little stocking-stuffer for the Barbz.

Minaj’s bow also gives House Lipman its 28th week at #1 this year. The label, which took home the 2023 marketshare crown, holds seven of the Top 11 titles this week, including Taylor Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Drake’s For All the Dogs (OVO) at #2 and #3, respectively. Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (Big Loud/Mercury), which moves to #6, closes 2023 as the year’s biggest album, moving north of 5.1m units.

RCA’s Tate McRae earns her biggest debut yet with Think Later at #4. The set, which includes global chart-topping single “greedy,” notches a fa-la-la-la-fabulous 66k in its first week.

As the smell of Christmas cookies overwhelms our senses, 18 holiday titles pack the Top 50, led by Michael Bublé’s Christmas (Reprise) at #5 and Nat King Cole’s Christmas Song (Capitol) at #10.

We asked Santa for our coffee mugs to be magically filled with gin. So far, it appears we didn’t make the “nice” list.
