YOUR WEEKEND
BOX OFFICE

Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron tops the domestic box office chart this weekend thanks to a strong showing at IMAX and other large-format auditoriums.

Based on estimates, it’s expected to top the fourth weekend of Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

The only other Top 10 new arrival this weekend was Bleecker Street’s Waitress: The Musical, which pulled in $2.6m on 1,214 screens, good for eighth place.
