RIAA ADDS UP '23 TALLY: SZA WINS

SZA had the most RIAA gold and platinum certifications in 2023. Fifty-seven artists, meanwhile—the Class of '23—earned their very first plaques.

SZA’s 15-title tally included the triple-platinum SOS (TDE/RCA) and the quintuple-platinum “Kill Bill.” Luke Combs had the most country titles on the year-end list, with his version of “Fast Car” (Columbia Nashville) the highest-certified country single.

Fifteen new titles by first-timers were certified platinum for surpassing 1m units and 33 went gold for reaching 500k units (sales + streaming equivalents).

First-timer highlights include: Peso Pluma's scoring the highest album certification for a first-time artist with his platinum collection GÉNESIS (Double P/Prajin); Ice Spice’s two gold singles—“Munch (Feelin’ U)” (Create Music Group) and “In ha Mood” (10K Projects/Capitol)—plus her platinum PinkPantheress collaboration, “Boy's a Liar Pt. 2” (300 Entertainment); and KAROL G's scoring the Top Latin Album with MAÑANA SERÁ BONITO (Universal Music Latino).

With gold single “From the Start” (AWAL), Laufey has the only jazz certification in both the Class of 2023 and the year-end lists.
