This week's entrants will also find their faces in our latest mag, which could make for good—or disappointing—talking points during Thanksgiving dinner.
Lucy Davidson
Manager, Label Partnerships, Spotify
Among other feats, Davidson has handled global campaigns for albums by Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo and a release event for The Show, by Niall Horan. Her recent projects span Rodrigo’s GUTS, Troye Sivan’s Something To Give Each Other and Kali Uchis’ 2024 album. She also helped Jung Kook & Latto’s “Seven” hit 1b streams on Spotify more quickly than any other track. And as U.S. lead for the platform’s equity program, she’ll spearhead the Spot’s Grammy-week Women in Music celebration. Davidson was once a professional ballet dancer. We’ve never been on point.
Jordan Dettmer
Manager, Range Media Partners
Working with Midland, Luke Grimes and Stephen Wilson Jr. on their sold-out Red Rocks show was a bucket-list experience for Dettmer, who ended the evening with a backstage singalong of “Friends in Low Places” boasting songwriter Earl Bud Lee himself. Dettmer’s currently prepping for Midland’s Last Resort Cruise, setting sail in April 2024 with a lineup including Wilson, Orville Peck, Hayes Carll, Flatland Cavalry and The Bussin Boys. Dettmer’s new favorite pastime is mowing the lawn, a source of joy and peace. We, meanwhile, are a source of despair and dread.
Whitney Dublin
Senior Director, Digital, Mom + Pop
After 10 years in the legal profession, Dublin was beyond thrilled to see her name in the liner notes to Del Water Gap’s debut LP. “The parallel growth of our careers has been really rewarding,” she says. This digital dynamo is now shepherding new music by Raffaella—who has announced her debut headlining tour following road shows with MisterWives and Bishop Briggs—and work by the twice-Grammy-nominated Tycho and two-time Libera Award nominee Orion Sun. In her spare time, Dublin tends to her garden; she loves growing her own veggies. We’re couch potatoes.
Will Cubero
Advertising and Direct to Fan Manager, ONErpm
For Cubero, very little beats working with legends like Method Man and other acts he’s loved from day one like Nightly, Topaz Jones and The Voidz. In the last six months, he’s played a role in effectively eliminating, via automation and a bit of AI, the time it takes for ONErpm to supply clients data on their campaigns. As a result, its artists always know how their ads are doing. “Automation is cool! I promise,” he insists. Outside music, Cubero and his partner are “stupidly” obsessed with Formula 1 racing, making this item the equivalent of a yellow flag.
Maria Angela Batiz
Sr. Manager, Marketing & Business Development, Música Mexicana, Warner Music Latina
Batiz feels fortunate to have worked over the course of her career with the likes of Marco Antonio Solis, Gloria Trevi, Paquita la del Barrio and Bronco. She was also pumped to witness DannyLux’s Coachella debut this year, followed by a McDonald’s campaign, and spearhead the marketing of his DLUX set, which debuted at #7 on Spotify global. She’s presently all about Grupo Pesado’s 30th anniversary campaign. Batiz says she’s fond of painting. We are, too, as long as “by numbers” is part of the deal and we’re allowed to use our fingers.
Steven Dizon
Account Lead, Commercial Marketing, Virgin Music Group
Dizon has mounted in-stores for Lauv and NF and recently launched a nationwide party to support NCT 127’s The 5th Album, Fact Check—resulting in the K-pop act’s biggest independent retail sales—and another promoting Black Pumas’ Chronicles of Diamond, which saw 100+ indie retail outlets open their doors at midnight to coincide with the album’s release. “While studying to become a physical therapist,” he says, “I promoted club events that sold out. So I switched to marketing, got a job in music and have been selling records and swinging streams ever since!”
Brenna Rindfuss
Manager, Hills Artists
Rindfuss cherishes her time on the road with Sasha Alex Sloan, including the singer-songwriter’s sold-out Southeast Asia headlining tour and Coachella appearance, which followed the release of her sophomore album, 2022’s I Blame the World. At the moment, the management pro has her hands full with Sloan, actress Maia Reficco, Annika Bennett (who’s opened for Sabrina Carpenter and Local Natives) and mixer Pedro Calloni (Hemlocke Springs, Maddie Zahm, Lexi Jayde). Rindfuss was once on the Penn State track and field team. Too bad she couldn’t outrun this blurb.
Tyler Goldberg
Co-Founder, JET Management & Maison Arts
From house-sitting for C3 Presents co-founders Charles Attal and Charlie Walker, working C3’s Austin City Limits (his first festival gig) and being hired by artist LP Giobbi after a butt dial to juggling JET’s roster and Maison Arts’ publishing clients, Goldberg’s come a long way in the biz. He’s presently occupied by the rollout of NEIL FRANCES’ new set, It’s All a Bit Fuzzy, and 2024 album cycles for JUSTICE and Suki Waterhouse. Outside work, Goldberg enjoys golfing—though his clubs were recently stolen. What was Lenny Beer doing on the day in question?
