To commemorate the double-platinum certification of rock legend Sir Elton John's Diamonds collection, UMG boss Sir Lucian Grainge and UMe chief Bruce Resnikoff joined him for this cheerfully bespectacled photo op. The hitmaker enthused that his latest plaque would occupy a prime spot in his purpose-built warehouse of plaques, which we're told has its own zip code.

We also note that Elton's "Step Into Christmas" (which appears on Diamonds) was originally released on 11/23/73—50 years ago this week. It figures prominently on the superstar's new Step Into Christmas EP, which includes all of his signature holiday hits. The song first dropped as a stand-alone single b/w "Ho Ho Ho (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas)," of which we hope we will soon get a reverently hushed cover version by a 20-year-old TikTok influencer.

In a related story, don't feel bad for Bruce just because he's the only one in this photo who hasn't been knighted; word has it he's applied once again this year to be dubbed Duke of Earl, or possibly, Sir Loin of Beef.
