Laufey has extended her deal with label partner AWAL. The news follows a Grammy nomination (in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category) for her acclaimed debut set, Bewitched. Released in September, the project was Spotify's biggest debut for a jazz album, bowing at #2 on both its global and domestic charts.
“Laufey is the artist you dream of having an opportunity to work with," said AWAL CEO Lonny Olinick. "She is a generational talent—that talent is only matched by her incredible dedication to her craft. She has built a fiercely dedicated fan base and understands what it takes in today’s world to constantly challenge and engage it. The opportunities ahead for Laufey are limitless and I couldn’t be prouder to continue our relationship."
Laufey, meanwhile, praised AWAL's "steadfast commitment" to her "creative autonomy," which has allowed her the freedom to stretch any perceived musical boundaries.
