The Marvels (Disney) posted a $47m opening weekend, the smallest such tally for any of the 33 films in the Marvel franchise. Internationally, the film brought in $63.3m for a worldwide debut of $110m.

The Marvels was the only major premiere of the weekend.

Continuing to impress in its fifth week, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour took its box-office total to $172.5m in North America and $240.9m globally.
