On the heels of the Ohio win to enshrine the right to reproductive care/access to abortion in the state constitution, Noise for Now has created a record label to release compilations benefitting grassroots organizations that work in the field of reproductive justice.
The first official release, NOISE FOR NOW: VOL I, is a vinyl-only limited-edition Record Store Day Black Friday exclusive featuring tracks by Bully, Wet Leg, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes and more.
The vinyl-only limited edition will feature tracks by Bully, Wet Leg, My Morning Jacket, Tegan and Sara and others. The LP will be available on clear vinyl with a "Liberate Abortion" print by Kim Gordon.
“The choice to decide what happens to our bodies is under attack and access to crucial services is being decimated and criminalized,” said Tegan and Sara in a joint statement. “Reproductive justice and access to safe abortion is a human-rights issue, and we are proud to support the organizations and individuals fighting for fundamental services and care against all odds.”
All net proceeds will support independent abortion clinics via Keep Our Clinics and the support organization The Brigid Alliance.
Songs on NOISE FOR NOW: VOL I originally appeared on the 2022 digital-only benefit compilation Good Music To Ensure Safe Abortion Access to All, which was available via Bandcamp for only 24 hours.
