UMPG has inked award-winning singer-songwriter Carin León to an exclusive, global publishing agreement.
Born in Sonora, Mexico, León has become a leading force in the música Mexicana scene. With hits like “Ni Me Debes Ni Te Debo,” “Te Lo Agradezco” and “Me Haces Tan Bien,” he earned a Latin Grammy in 2022 for “Como Lo Hice Yo,” which took home Best Regional Song. His latest full-length, Colmillo de Leche, is up for Best Norteño Album this year. The 18-track set landed in the Top 10 of the Top Latin Albums and Mexican Album charts, with several of its tracks, including “Primera Cita,” soaring on Spotify’s global charts.
León has collaborated with the likes of Maluma (on the recent hit "Según Quién"), C. Tangana, Mau y Ricky, Kany Garcia, Grupo Frontera and Camilo. He co-wrote Grupo Firme’s hit “El Tóxico.” Most recently, he sold more than 400k tickets on his 38-date U.S. Colmillo de Leche Tour.
Said UMPG Chairman/CEO Jody Gerson, “Carin León’s career is limitless and transcends música Mexicana. I look forward to working with Jorge Juarez and our entire global team to support Carin as he opens doors creatively across musical genres and geographies.”
“There is no doubt that Carin León is one of the most talented artists working today” added Yadira Moreno, UMPG managing director of Mexico and Central America & VP of new business development for Latin America. “We are excited to collaborate with Carin and foster his composing career internationally.”
Said León, “This partnership marks a thrilling new chapter in my career, and I’m eagerly looking forward to expressing my passion and creativity through the art of music."
