Hit producer-writer Poo Bear (Justin Bieber, DJ Khaled, Mariah Carey) and entrepreneur Jeremy Greene have launched Fwaygo, a streaming/social/collaboration platform dedicated to independent artists that offers free distribution.
Creators can upload music, discover each other's work and collaborate via the app. A paid tier offers the opportunity for aspiring music-makers to be mentored by The Audibles, Kevin Rudolph and other top producers, artists, execs, managers and music attorneys. Greene and Poo Bear are pictured here before driving from L.A. to Vegas in eight minutes.
Within three days of its release, 1 million+ artists had signed up with Fwaygo, including 150k+ discovered via Snapchat. Fwaygo, we’re told, played a key role in the discovery of acts like charlieonnafriday and Kaitlyn Raps.
The platform has partnered directly with multimedia production company and label DotComCrash. Boasting an in-house production and visual-effects unit, DotComCrash has collaborated with artists like Drake, Doja Cat, Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, Ice Spice, Chief Keef and A$AP Rocky, to name a few. Its partners also include Google Pixel, RAM, Tom Ford, Nike, Intel, Yeat, Trippie Redd and DC Shoes. DCC's YouTube channel boasts 200k+ subscribers and 90m views. It also surfaces and propels talent through various direct-to-consumer portals and has dedicated branches for merchandising and live events.
Will Fwaygo, fortified by this robust new partnership, become a key destination for creators? Stay tuned. In the meantime, check out the video below for an overview.
