U.K. MIDWEEKS: STONES ROLL ON
The Rolling Stones are heading toward their 14th U.K. Official Albums #1. Over on singles, Kenya Grace is leading by a tight margin.
Hackney Diamonds (Polydor) by The Stones is outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined at today’s midweek point. The set—the first album of original material by the band in 18 years—has already shifted over 55k sales.
blink-182 are on track to land at #2 with ONE MORE TIME… (Columbia), while Bombay Bicycle Club’s My Big Day (AWAL) starts at #3.
An all-new Top 5 could be completed by Richard Hawley’s Now Then: The Very Best Of (BMG) at #4; and the debut from Barry Can’t Swim, When Will We Land (Ninja Tune), at #5.
Sampha is on track for #7 with his second album, Lahai (Young). Pet Shop Boys could score a 19th Top 10 album with Relentless (Parlophone), which was originally released as an EP in ’93, at #9. Cher’s Christmas (Warner Records) could complete Friday’s Top 10.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Grace’s “Strangers” (FFRR/Major Recordings) is in an intense battle to retain its #1 spot for a third week. The track is just 300 sales ahead of “Prada” (Ministry of Sound) by cassö, RAYE and D-Block Europe.
Today’s highest entry is “Too Much” (Columbia) by The Kid LAROI, Jung Kook and Central Cee, at #5.
Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” (EMI) could jump back into the Top 10 at #7 following the release of its new live version.
Tracks on the rise include “DNA (Loving You)” (Atlantic) by Billy Gillies and Hannah Boleyn, up one to #11, and Troye Sivan’s “One of Your Girls” (Polydor), up five to #12.
