ERAS TOUR POSTS $39M OPENING DAY

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is off to a fast start, pulling in $39m in its opening stanza (10/13), putting it a mere $300k behind the biggest October opening day in history.

Screened at 3,855 North American locations, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour ranks behind only 2019’s Joker, which posted a $39.3m domestic opening day.

The Eras Tour tally includes $2.8m from Thursday-night previews.

Projections for the weekend are still a question mark, though The Eras Tour appears to be headed toward a $100m opening for the three days. Deadline is now estimating $90m-$109m. If you believe anything below $100m is a miss, you need to calm down: The biggest October opening weekend in history is Joker‘s $96.2m.

On top of the ridiculous box office numbers, Tay's film is scoring rave reviews from critics. USA Today called it "a thrilling revisit of her live spectacle," while Variety said The Eras Tour is "as exhilarating on screen as in the flesh." Check out a rundown of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, where the film is boasting 100% and 99% critics and audience scores.
