First-round voting for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards is officially underway (as of 10/11) and will remain open until 10/20. The nominees will be unveiled on 11/10, with the final round of voting taking place 12/14-1/4.
The Recording Academy has made several changes since last year, including limiting the number of nominees in the Big Four to eight instead of 10. The committee also announced three new categories: Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.
Another new development: The Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, and Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, categories will be moved to the General Field. The category Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, was introduced last year.
The 2024 Grammy Awards will be held 2/4 at Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena. They're being extremely Crypto about whether we may attend.
