WORDS FAIL

The shock, grief and sorrow we feel after the weekend’s events in Israel and Gaza are overwhelming.

We condemn these terrorist attacks and the targeting of civilians. Our hearts go out to those now mourning their dead, whose families and communities are held captive and whose hopes for peace have once again been shattered by bloodshed. We fervently hope we are not on the verge of a wider conflict. May this nightmare end soon.

We are especially devastated by reports of the massacre at the Supernova music festival.

Understandably, many in the music world have expressed anguish.

The members of U2 offered solemn tribute by dedicating their song “Pride (In the Name of Love)” to the victims during their show last night (10/8) at Sphere in Las Vegas and reiterating their commitment to peace.

“What is happening in Israel is devastating,” reads a post from Madonna. “Watching all of these families and especially children being herded, assaulted and murdered in the streets is heartbreaking. Imagine if this was happening to you? It’s unfathomable.” (NOTE: Madonna's post contains graphic images.)
