Superstar and streaming monster Bad Bunny is already Top 5 on Spotify's global chart—and Top 10 on the USA countdown—within 48 hours of the release of his latest single, “Un Preview” (Rimas). It's also Top 15 on Apple Music's global chart.
The track, written by Bunny and produced by frequent collaborators Tainy, Mag and La Paciencia, is believed to be a preview—see what he did there—of the multi-hyphenate superstar’s fifth solo studio album, which has yet to be announced. It comes with a Stillz-directed video, in which Bunny enjoys a one-man dance party alongside a horse and a spiffy convertible.
It’s another instance of great synergy for the artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, who currently stars alongside Gael Garcia Bernal in Amazon's new Lucha Libre-themed flick, “Cassandro.” Bunny’s previous solo single, "Where She Goes," was a big hit last spring, as was his Travis Scott/The Weeknd collab, “K-POP,” earlier this summer.
The artist is nominated for six more statues at the Latin Grammys, set for 11/16 in Seville, Spain. We're told there will be paella.
As we noted above, there's no word yet on when to expect the follow-up to 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti, a multi-platinum global smash which won Best Musica Urbana Album at this year’s Grammys. Bunny has been off the road since co-headlining Coachella in April, but buzz is building for a major 2024 outing. It will have the unenviable task of following up 2022’s World’s Hottest Tour; that trek's $300-plus-million-gross made it the top-selling run in history by a Latin music act.
