REGGAETON LEGEND YANDEL SIGNS WITH WARNER LATINA

Warner Music Latina has inked reggaeton trailblazer Yandel. The Puerto Rican hitmaker's career spans 20+ years on the Latin urban scene; he broke through in 2000 as half of the influential duo Wisin y Yandel before launching a successful solo career.

Yandel earned two Latin Grammy nominations this week, for "Yandel 150" f/Feid in the Best Urban Song and Best Urban/Fusion Performance categories. The track has generated 650m+ Spotify streams in less than a year.

Warner Music Latin America President Alejandro Duque and Managing Director, U.S. Roberto Andrade Dirak signed the deal at New York's Empire State Building, where Yandel kicked off the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month via the tower's themed lights ("rotation of countries' flags that celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month"). He also performed an intimate concert for attendees at the Empire State Building Observatory.

"Yandel's iconic career has resonated with audiences worldwide, and his influence in the music industry is undeniable," said Duque. "This collaboration signifies a new chapter of innovation and creativity. We are excited to work hand in hand with Yandel to bring his music to fans across the globe."

Andrade added, “Yandel is an artist who embodies both iconic status and forward-thinking vision. At Warner Music Latina, we take immense pride in joining him on this new chapter of his career, contributing to its evolution alongside his dedicated and collaborative team."

After the ink dried, all parties hit the Empire State Building gift shop to pick out their favorite tower replicas and shot glasses.
