Granderson Des Rochers LLP has welcomed Lynn Gonzalez as a partner in the firm's Music Practice Group. She'll remain in New York City.
"Innovation is at the heart of what we do, and Lynn brings fresh perspectives and forward-thinking strategies to our team, leveraging her major-label and personal life experiences,” said founding partner Damien Granderson. “Her arrival at GDR is reflective of our dedication to staying at the forefront of entertainment law and being thought leaders within the entertainment industry."
Gonzalez's legal career began at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. She most recently served as EVP and head of business affairs and business development at Def Jam, where she acted as the label's lead attorney, overseeing matters for Rihanna, Big Sean and Justin Bieber, among others. She was previously in-house counsel for Atlantic and Razor & Tie Entertainment.
Gonzalez co-founded and served as the president of the Black Women in Entertainment Law Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring and providing scholarships to Black women pursuing careers in entertainment law. The New York University School of Law grad is an active member of the New York chapter of the Recording Academy, where she currently serves as its organizational secretary.
