GEFFEN HEATS UP

We just checked the thermometer, and Geffen is officially hot.

The IGA label, now greeting the arrival of Olivia Rodrigo's madly anticipated sophomore set, GUTS (which already boasts two very big hits), is expecting a smashing chart debut week for the brilliant young artist.

Also hitting on 9/8: Layover (BIGHIT/Geffen), the EP from BTS member V (aka Taehyung). As you probably know, V's erstwhile bandmate, Jung Kook, has the #1 song on Spotify's global chart with "Seven" f/Latto.

Meanwhile, the late Jimmy Buffett will hit the Top 5 for the first time in the current chart era thanks to the outpouring of marketplace love from his fans (as well as those who are just discovering his fabulous catalog); his set Songs You Know by Heart, featuring "Margaritaville" and several other potent Buffett classics, is on track to do north of 50k.

Another legendary act on the label, The Rolling Stones, have delivered their first new music since 2005 with "Angry," the lead single from forthcoming full-length Hackney Diamonds. The project has gotten huge press looks, beginning with an announcement on Fallon.

We're told John Janick and team are kicking the AC up a notch.
