Step aside, Chicago Bears Shufflin’ Crew: A new lineup of NFL players are putting their vocal skills to the test. The EP CROWD CONTROL is being issued today (9/5) to all DSPs and via an update to Madden NFL 24.
The six-song release, brought to you by the NFL, IGA and Madden NFL producer EA Sports, features Darren Waller of the New York Giants, the Miami Dolphins’ Terron Armstead, Ray-Ray McCloud from the San Francisco 49ers, DJ Chark of the Carolina Panthers and Melvin Ingram. The players perform alongside hip-hop stars Rob49, Jay Rock, That Mexican OT and Lebra Jolie.
This is the first time music has been created and performed by NFL players and featured in Madden NFL.
EST Gee and Turbo handled production. Derrick Milano served as executive producer.
“The amount of musical creativity and talent coming from these players was truly inspiring,” said IGA SVP of Sports & Gaming David Nieman. “We immediately saw the potential to work with these players as artists, and our deep relationships with the NFL and Electronic Arts made the EP possible."
Steve Schnur, president of EA Music, said, “By introducing breakthrough stars, debuting exclusive tracks and taking superstar artists to the next level, Madden Music has consistently delivered the unexpected. To now have these NFL stars performing in a Madden NFL soundtrack furthers the partnership between sports and culture like never before. Speaking of never before, who likes the Jets this year?”
