The House of Blues Music Forward Foundation, a national nonprofit that's part of the Live Nation family, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with two fundraising events: the Music Forward Brunch on 10/1 at the Hollywood Bowl and the inaugural Celebrity Golf Tournament on 10/2 at the El Caballero County Club in Tarzana. Tickets are available here.
“Live Nation has backed Music Forward since day one, and we congratulate them on 30 years of helping youth discover and build careers in live music,” said Live Nation President/CEO Michael Rapino. “The industry is growing and diversifying faster than ever, which means there are even more opportunities to support the next generation, and we look forward to continuing our work together.”
The Music Forward Foundation has served more than one million young people and provided more than $42m in scholarships, workforce opportunities, relief funds and more. Established in 1993 by House of Blues founder Isaac Tigrett, the organization focuses on youth aged 13-24 from under-represented communities.
Phoebe Bridgers, Trombone Shorty and Alexander Andre have been recipients of Music Forward Foundation scholarships. Aspiring musicians and music professionals also have access to mentorships from industry figures, networking opportunities and access to paid performances. Fitz and the Tantrums, Khalid, Noah Cyrus and Martina McBride, meanwhile, have served as ambassadors for the charity.
Foundation partners include BMG, Primary Wave and Concord, which provide benefits like paid internships, apprenticeships and more to participants.
