Drake left his fans heartbroken on Friday (8/25) when his new album, For All the Dogs, didn't arrive at the magical hour of midnight. But during a recent stop on his It's All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage, the Republic/OVO Sound megastar at least addressed the proverbial elephant in the room and explained why.
"I know everybody’s upset because I didn’t drop my album last night,” he told the crowd. “I didn’t say it was dropping last night, so don’t be mad at me. I just said it was coming soon. It’s not going to be that much longer. You know I got shows every night. But I promise you, For All the Dogs is on the way. If you never loved anything I’ve ever done in the past, I promise you, this album will be for you. It’ll be worth the wait."
In all fairness to the fans, though, Drake did say late last month that the album would arrive "in two weeks," so the anticipation tracks. But for now, thirsty Drake fans will have to remain patient.
For All the Dogs is the follow-up to 2022's Honestly, Nevermind. Coincidentally, that's the same phrase we hear when we offer to cover one of Drake's concerts. Check out his remarks below.
