Sandbox Succession, the estate-management arm of Sandbox Entertainment Group, will represent the Loretta Lynn estate effective immediately. The deal covers film, television, theater, music recordings, licensing, merchandising and hospitality opportunities.
“Loretta Lynn is the original Queen of Country music and it's a true privilege that her family has entrusted Sandbox Succession to preserve her precious legacy,” Sandbox Entertainment CEO Jason Owen said.
Lynn died in 2022 but left behind a treasured legacy; she released more than 50 albums during her lifetime, beginning with 1963's Loretta Lynn Sings. In 2008 she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She earned a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by Barack Obama in 2013. Meanwhile, the film adaptation of her 1976 autobiography, Coal Miner’s Daughter, received seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture (Sissy Spacek was named Best Actress for her portrayal of Lynn). Sandbox Succession also represents the estates of Johnny Cash and June Carter, among others.
