Lauryn Hill will continue the 25th anniversary celebration of her landmark album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, with a 17-date tour, and the Fugees—Hill's Grammy-winning trio with Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel—will provide support on all U.S. and Canadian dates.
The run kicks off 9/8 in Minneapolis and will head to Australia and New Zealand before returning to the U.S. on 10/19 for a stop at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. Hill and co. will touch down at L.A.'s Kia Forum on 11/5.
Hill was a surprise guest during Nas' set at Yankee Stadium on 8/11, where thousands of fans celebrated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. In addition to performing her 1996 duet with Nas, "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)," Hill ran through several Fugees songs, including "Ready or Not" and "Killing Me Softly."
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill officially turns 25 on Friday (8/25), the same day tickets for Hill's upcoming tour go on sale to the general public (see link below).
"The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator," Hill said in a statement. "I wrote love songs and protest songs—(still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past."
