CARLESS GETS JIGGY WITH DEFIANT

Steve “Steve-O” Carless has launched the JV Defiant Records with his employer, Warner Records, releasing its first album, Defiant Presents: Jiggy in Jersey (ft. MCVERTT), today (8/11).

The 28-track LP pairs producer-artist MCVERTT with rappers Bandmanrill and Sha EK.

Said Carless, the president of A&R for Warner Records, “Defiant will be filled with individuals who are always challenging the status quo, always going to be in an innovation phase of their career.”

Bandmanrill, Sha Ek and MCVERTT are known for their mix of drill and Jersey club sounds. Newark-born Bandmanrill made his major-label debut in the fall with Club Godfather and dropped the EP President Obandman this year. Sha EK released his Most Dangerous EP in March and Return of the Jiggy in 2022. MCVERTT’s recent productions include Lil Uzi Vert's "I Just Wanna Rock” and his own “Face Down” f/Sexyy Red and A$AP Ferg.

Prior to the release of Defiant Presents: Jiggy in Jersey (ft. MCVERTT), the trio issued a video for “Face Down.”
