TOP 50: AN ADOR-ABLE BOW AND THE BARBIE BOOM

K-pop breakouts NewJeans score their first #1 debut with 2nd EP Get Up (ADOR/HYBE/Geffen). The six-track project (which does not include the giant global hits “Ditto” and “OMG”) leads the HITS Top 50 with 140k. 115k of the quintet’s total comes from pure sales, adding to its 2023 streaming success.

Atlantic’s Barbie: The Album soundtrack enters at #2, anchored by heavyweight singles by Billie Eilish, Ice Spice w/Nicki Minaj and Dua Lipa, among others. The LP notches a 120k first week days after the summer blockbuster set records at the box office its opening week.

Republic keeps a six-pack of titles between #3 and 9, with multiple Morgan Wallen (Big Loud/Mercury) and Taylor Swift albums holding court in the Top 10—as they’ve done all year—while rock act Greta Van Fleet posts a Top 10 bow with Starcatcher (Lava), at #8.

Música Mexicana sensation Peso Pluma logs 50k with GÉNESIS (Double P/Prajin Parlay) in its fifth week, good for #5. Ice Spice re-enters the chart at #29 with the deluxe version of her EP Like…? (Capitol/10K Projects).

Streeting this week are new albums by Cactus Jack/Epic’s Travis Scott, Mercury/Republic’s Post Malone and School Boy/Interscope’s Carly Rae Jepsen.
