Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour came to a conclusion Saturday (7/8) at Sweden’s Tele2 Arena—marking the end of the beloved entertainer's 50-year touring career.
The final show was his 330th of the tour, which started 9/10/18. More than 6.25m fans saw the British rock legend hit stages in the U.K., Europe, North America, and Australasia. The epic trek included eight nights at Madison Square Garden, 10 at London’s O2 Arena, a sold-out BST in London’s Hyde Park, two nights at Watford Football Club’s Vicarage Road and three performances at Dodger Stadium.
“Tonight has been magical,” Sir Elton said after the final show, which closed with “Your Song.” “I’m trying to process it, and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss the fans and how much their support has humbled me—it will stay with me forever.”
