Taylor Swift is dominating the iTunes and Apple Music album charts this Flipover Friday with her latest re-record, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) (Republic).
The new edition—featuring 16 songs from the deluxe iteration of the 2010 release, plus six vault tracks—is #1 and #2 at iTunes and #1 at Apple Music. Four songs from the album are in the Top 20 at iTunes songs. Three are in the Top 10 at Apple Music, led by “Mine (Taylor’s Version).” Eleven songs from the new set are in the Top 30 at Apple Music.
The release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) has resulted in an avalanche of sales for Tay's older work: She has three other albums in the iTunes Top 10, Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Lover and Red (Taylor's Version). In total, she has 12 albums in the Top 40.
Fans are clearly comparing the two versions of Speak Now on Apple Music—aside from the reinvention's presence at #1, the original is #9. Swift has six albums total in the Top 40 at Apple Music.
The other three new arrivals in the Top 10 at iTunes are all by female artists: Nita Strauss’ The Call of the Void (Sumerian) is #5, PJ Harvey’s I Inside the Old Year Dying (Partisan) sits at #7 and Steffany Gretzinger’s The Narrow Way (Provident) cuts a path to #8.
“Do It Like That” (BIGHIT), a collab between TOMORROW X TOGETHER & Jonas Brothers, is the top new arrival at iTunes songs, starting at #2.
LUCKI’s s*x m*ney dr*gs (EMPIRE) is new at Apple Music albums, opening at #6.
