SoundCloud has welcomed Devi Mahadevia as svp of strategy and promoted executives Tracy Chan and Ama Walton to chief content officer and svp of music licensing & deputy general counsel, respectively.
Mahadevia joins the platform from Meta, where she led consumer partnerships and product integrations for the company's metaverse, AR and VR efforts.
During his time at SoundCloud, Chan has made contributions to elevate the company’s content offerings and has launched services that have helped increase creator subscription, while Walton has overseen legal efforts for SoundCloud for Artists, including new ways for artists to generate income.
Additionally, SoundCloud is launching its new “First Fans” feature, an autoplay algorithm that will deliver song suggestions to subscribers.
The trial feature will assess and recommend newly uploaded tracks to listeners by using AI technology developed by Musiio, a Singapore-based company that SoundCloud acquired last year.
“We’re testing First Fans now with a select group of Next Pro artists and we look forward to expanding availability in the near future,” said Chan.
