Spotify is planning a more expensive subscription option that will include high-fidelity audio, Bloomberg reported today (6/20).
The company initially said it was working on a hi-fi feature back in early 2021. Bloomberg’s report says the “Supremium” plan will launch this year in non-U.S. markets first; it will roll out in the U.S. in October. Spotify plans to enhance its premium tier by giving subscribers expanded access to audiobooks.
Apple Music and Amazon Music offer high-fidelity streaming for free as part of their standard paid plans.
