Applications are now available for the third year of Femme It Forward, Next Gen Femme's mentorship program.
A joint venture with Live Nation, Femme It Forward is a women-led entertainment company empowering women through multi-format, multi-market consumer experiences; Next Gen Femme accelerates the careers of young women of color, pairing blossoming talent with female players in entertainment, media and technology.
NGF returns this year with more than 100 mentors in marketing, publicity, live entertainment and touring, business development, talent management, artist relations and more at companies like Google, Amazon, Apple Music, CAA, Live Nation, NBC Universal, Netflix, Republic, YouTube and The Oriel Company. Google Pixel, meanwhile, has teamed up with FIF for the Femme It Future Scholarship, the first scholarship established as part of NGF.
Said FIF President/CEO Heather Lowery: “Through powerful relationships and practical education, Next Gem Femme opens so many doors for young women of color, a group that has been overlooked for far too long. We’re thrilled to launch our third year of the program and to build on its amazing momentum as we continue leading necessary conversations about the need to improve workplace equity. This brilliant group of mentors will give remarkable young women the wisdom and tools to expand their talents, overcome setbacks and reach their potential.”
NGF will award at least half of its mentee spots to students attending HBCUs. In addition to the scholarship, select students will be treated to "special care packages" featuring Google technologies and products sourced from women-owned businesses.
The mentee application period closes Friday (6/16) at 9pm PT. Mentors and mentees will be paired in August, prior to the program’s September launch. For more information, click here. In related news, we've just been informed that we have less than none of the requirements to qualify as a mentor.
