BANDLAB REBRANDS CAKEWALK

BandLab Technologies is rebranding Cakewalk, with plans to make the music production software more accessible to creators.

Cakewalk by BandLab will become Cakewalk, with two distinct products under its banner: Cakewalk Sonar and Cakewalk Next. The company has accordingly launched an updated website.

Cakewalk Sonar is Cakewalk's original digital audio workstation. With a significant UI revision and a platform committed to ongoing feature development, it will continue to focus on performance while delivering a production experience on Windows desktop devices. Cakewalk Sonar will ensure compatibility with legacy projects created in previous iterations of SONAR and Cakewalk by BandLab.

Cakewalk Next offers easy-to-use yet powerful tools for creators of all stages. Applications are now open to beta-test new offerings before official release.

“We want to empower all creators by giving them a range of workflow options across our product offerings, and that includes a robust desktop ecosystem. We see it as one interlocking chain that supports creators throughout their creative process,” says BandLab Technologies CEO & co-founder Meng Ru Kuok. “With BandLab, we’ve taken mobile creation possibilities to the next level, but we think there’s still more to deliver, especially as our users mature and interact with more creators and partners on their journey. Cakewalk now stands alone as an independent brand, with plenty more exciting news to come over these next few months.”

BandLab Technologies recently announced a $25m Series B1 financing round, resulting in a valuation of $425m.
