Lil Durk and Matchbox Twenty lead the new arrivals at iTunes and Apple Music this Flipover Friday, while fans of the late Tina Turner are buying up compilations and her 1984 comeback album, Private Dancer. Taylor Swift rules the Top 3 at iTunes songs.
Lil Durk’s Almost Healed (Alamo) tops the Apple Music album chart and is #3 at iTunes. Lead single “All My Life” continues to hold down the #1 slot on the streaming side. New arrival “Pelle Coat” is #5.
Matchbox Twenty’s Where the Light Goes (Atlantic) is the top new arrival at iTunes, starting at #2.
Swift’s 23-track Til Dawn Edition of Midnights (Republic) is #4, followed by Sparks’ The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte (Island), the 26th album from Ron and Russell Mael, which is #16.
Kodak Black’s Pistolz & Pearlz (Atlantic) is #9 at Apple Music and #22 at iTunes.
Turner’s iTunes rally includes the 2004 compilation All the Best: The Hits at #1; Simply the Best, an 18-track compilation from 1991, at #5; the 30th anniversary edition of Private Dancer at #6 and the original at #15; and 2009's Tina Live at #10. Turner’s Essentials is the top playlist at Apple Music. (Rhino handles all of Turner’s recordings in the U.S.)
The arrival of new Swift songs has ended Turner’s domination of the iTunes songs chart. Swift’s “Hits Different” is #1, followed by “Snow on the Beach” f/Lana Del Rey and “Karma” f/Ice Spice.
Turner has six songs between #5 and #12, with “What’s Love Got to Do With It” leading the way.
