BOUTAHAR BOARDS COLUMBIA GSA

Frederik Boutahar, managing director of TwoSides and co-founder and managing director of the label and management agency Irrsinn, has been named VP of A&R for Columbia Records Germany, Switzerland & Austria.

Boutahar will work closely with Columbia GSA VP Alexandra Falken. He will report to Sony Music Entertainment GSA CEO Patrick Mushatsi-Kareba.

Boutahar will maintain an advisory function at TwoSides.

"Fred's passion for the music business, relationships, proven talent development and A&R record are the best prerequisites to drive Columbia's next growth phase,” said Mushatsi-Kareba. “He has our full support, and we look forward to expanding the leadership team with him."

Boutahar has worked as a manager, publisher and A&R manager for Budde Music, Universal Music Publishing Group and RCA Records. He was also a joint venture partner of Vertigo/Capitol. Among the artists he's worked with are AnnenMayKantereit, Faber, Von Wegen Lisbeth, Giant Rooks and Paula Hartmann.

This announcement had a lot more umlauts and was funnier in the original German.
