Capitol Records’ latest signing is Teo Glacier, an 18-year-old Samoan artist from New Zealand.
Capitol discovered him via “Too Much,” a viral hit from his handful of '90s-R&B-inspired songs written and recorded while the country was on lockdown due to COVID-19.
Capitol Music Group President Arjun Pulijal and CMG President of A&R Jeremy Vuernick jointly praised him: “It’s clear that Teo’s unique sound and lyricism are captivating fans globally. We are excited to welcome him to Capitol Records.”
The first Capitol release from Glacier, who just finished his final year of college, is “close with desires,” which is already gathering a head of steam at TikTok.
Said Page 1 Management CEO Ashley Page: "It's such an incredibly proud moment for Teo, his family and the Samoan and New Zealand communities globally. After a frenzied, frenetic few weeks, to now begin Teo's journey with the great people at Capitol Records as partner—what an unbelievable 18th birthday gift. I mean, I was hoping he’d be happy with the pet gecko I got him."
