EUROVISION CROWNS LOREEN, FUELS STREAMING SURGE

Sweden's Loreen was crowned 2023's Eurovision winner for her song "Tattoo" Saturday (5/13) in Liverpool. The UMG Sweden/Island artist's anthem soared to a new peak of #5 on Spotify's global chart following the contest.

No stranger to the competition, Loreen became the first female singer to win Eurovision twice; she triumphed with "Euphoria" back in 2012. Some are referring to her as The Queen of Eurovision.

"Tattoo" hit streaming peaks across the globe on 5/14, reaching #1 in eight European countries on Spotify, including the U.K. Its global stream count increased 100%, rising to 4.2m.

Runner-up "Cha Cha Cha" by Finland's Käärijä (WMG) also hit new heights, rising to #7 on Spotify global. Although it finished in second place, "Cha Cha Cha" topped the fan vote. Käärijä is also runner-up for most umlauts ever.

The BBC reported that Eurovision's finale garnered the biggest British television audience in the history of the show, with as many as 11 million viewers.
